| Kingsley Shacklebolt |
· Auror. Kingsley Shacklebolt started out in school like everyone else, going through his lessons and staying out of trouble. In his fifth year, he decided to follow the career path of becoming an Auror, intrigued by the challenge of it and also his opinion that someone should be there to stop those who would hurt others. A few years after completing his training and qualifying as an Auror, the First Wizarding War came to an end. Several comparatively uneventful years followed, during which he continued his work as an Auror and earned a reputation for working well with people (and blending in well with Muggles). Then war appeared on the horizon again, and he joined the re-formed Order of the Phoenix, risking losing his job (at the least) if his superiors found out. He was put in charge of the search for escaped convict Sirius Black; then, once Sirius' name was cleared, and the Ministry knew war was coming, Kingsley was assigned as security detail for the Muggle Prime Minister, due to his ability to blend in with Muggles. ·Minister. After the second war ended, Kingsley became the Minister of Magic. He promptly set about reworking the Ministry into something that would actually protect and represent the magical community. He also determined to do whatever he could to ensure that not only would all of those who died in the wars not be forgotten, but the wars themselves would never be forgotten. To this end, he began work on a war memorial with the names of those who died in both wars, installed in the atrium of the Ministry building. He also wrote a pair of books. The first was a memoir about his experiences in both wars, to tell the truth about what had happened. The second was a compilation of photographs and stories about those who had died in the war, taken from interviews with their families and friends. He donated the proceeds from both books to a fund that he set up for the survivors of those who died in the war. |
